About Make Happy Tummies™

Our Toonies for Tummies™ campaign returned as Make Happy Tummies earlier this year, and we’re grateful for the support from Canadians nationwide!

Make Happy Tummies is powered by community partners, including grocery stores, restaurants, and individual donors, all working together to fundraise for local breakfast programs through year-round campaigns and events. 100% of donations go directly to stigma-free breakfast programs managed by Student Nutrition Ontario and Breakfast Club of Canada.

Thank you for donating!

We just wrapped up our first-ever national Make Happy Tummies campaign in collaboration with grocery stores across the country, and we are overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity we’ve seen for children in need and the school breakfast programs that support them.

While we’re still finalizing the official results, it’s clear that your enthusiasm and passion for this campaign were truly inspiring. Many children will benefit from the incredible donations made at over 1,700 local grocery stores. Every dollar you contributed will stay in your community, thanks to our fantastic 41 Make Happy Tummies campaign sponsors

Throughout the campaign, we had so much fun and created wonderful memories together! From tossing footballs during our Super Bowl kickoff to engaging games and heartfelt handwritten cards from kids, the sense of community and kindness was truly uplifting. Together, we have made a meaningful difference in the lives of children by addressing their essential need for a healthy breakfast. Our hearts are full, and so too will be many hungry tummies, thanks to you!

Though our in-store campaign has wrapped up, our mission carries on! We’re committed to raising awareness about the one in three children at risk of going to school on an empty stomach. We want to keep shining a light on the positive impact of your donations and continue supporting local breakfast programs in your community for happy, healthy tummies. If you missed out on the in-store fun, we warmly invite you to join our community of monthly and online donors. Your support matters, and together, we can keep making a difference!

Thank you so much to our Make Happy Tummies 2025 Sponsor Partners

No. The only people who are eligible for a tax receipt for donations made in-store during the campaign are the individual donors making the donation.

We work with our student nutrition partners, to identify eligible school-based student nutrition programs. These programs benefit from donations made in-store and online once the campaign ends.

The Donation Tracker includes the programs that benefit currently. Once our annual fundraising campaign concludes, we distribute donations to schools that have been identified / partnered with stores. This tracker and the schools found there are continuously being updated.

Many of our grocery store partners offer options to make donations of a toonie and several other donation options, including in some cases open donations.  The Foundation accepts donations of $5 or more online which are eligible for a tax receipt.

We do not publish school names for privacy reasons.

No. But rest assured donations that are made in store will remain in the local community in the vicinity of the grocery store where the donation is made. For donations made online, we will make every best effort to have those donations benefit student nutrition programs in the region. For certain, donations made online will remain in the province associated with the online donation.

The criteria are determined by the organizations that administer the programs and is based on nutrition guidelines set by each respective province.
