Make Happy Tummies™ Is Back — And the Impact Is Real

Local support. Real nourishment. Lasting change for children in our communities.

Make Happy Tummies Returns this January.

After a record-breaking campaign that helped provide over 2.2 million nutritious meals to children in over 3,000 breakfast programs across Canada, we’re coming back to do even more.

Now is the time to help fill little tummies with big possibilities.

How Donations Last Year Are Helping

Right now, 1 in 3 children in Canada arrive at school hungry. That’s a child trying to learn, grow, and feel hopeful on an empty stomach.

100% of proceeds raised from Make Happy Tummies benefit student nutrition programs in local communities in the vicinity of the stores where donations are made OR in the province where the donation is made when made online. No. The only people eligible for a tax receipt for donations made in-store during the campaign are the individual donors .

We work with our student nutrition partners, to identify eligible school-based student nutrition programs. These programs benefit from donations made in-store and online once the campaign ends.

The Donation Tracker includes the programs that benefit currently. Once our annual fundraising campaign concludes, we distribute donations to schools that have been identified / partnered with stores. This tracker and the schools found there are continuously being updated.

Many of our grocery store partners offer options to make donations of a toonie and several other donation options, including in some cases open donations.  The Foundation accepts donations of $5 or more online which are eligible for a tax receipt.

We do not publish school names for privacy reasons.

No. But rest assured, donations that are made in-store will remain in the local community in the vicinity of the grocery store where the donation is made. For online donations , we will make every effort to have those donations benefit student nutrition programs in the region. For certain, donations made online will remain in the province associated with the online donation.

The criteria are determined by the organizations that administer the programs and is based on nutrition guidelines set by each respective province.
